Introdução: O câncer de tireoide atinge três vezes mais mulheres do que homens, com idade entre 20 e 65 anos. Os tipos mais comuns são os carcinomas papilares, foliculares, medulares e anaplásicos. Tanto o carcinoma papilar quanto o folicular são geralmente assintomáticos nos estágios iniciais. Quando os sinais aparecem, a forma mais comum da doença geralmente é o aparecimento de um nódulo palpável ou visível na tireoide ou na região do pescoço. Em estágios mais avançados, também pode ocorrer aumento dos linfonodos e do volume cervical, rouquidão, tosse persistente, dificuldade para engolir e sensação de compressão traqueal. Objetivo: Identificar a atuação do enfermeiro em mulheres com câncer de tireoide, fatores relacionados à qualidade de vida, alimentação, sobrecarga hereditária, exposição à radiação, poluição e produtos químicos (iodo). Material e métodos: consiste em uma revisão narrativa da literatura nas bases de dados: BDENF, Portal de Revistas de Enfermagem; SCIELO; LILACS e MEDLINE. Resultados: O câncer de tireoide é comumente tratado por um ou uma combinação de tratamentos. As opções e recomendações de tratamento dependem de vários fatores, incluindo o tipo e o estágio do câncer de tireoide, possíveis efeitos colaterais e as preferências do paciente e seu estado geral de saúde. O câncer de tireoide e seu tratamento causam sintomas físicos e efeitos colaterais, bem como efeitos emocionais, sociais e financeiros. Gerenciar todos esses efeitos é chamado de cuidados paliativos ou cuidados de suporte. É uma parte importante dos cuidados de enfermagem incluídos nos tratamentos de pacientes com câncer de tireoide. Conclusão: Os estudos sugerem que uma intervenção de enfermagem poderia reduzir o sofrimento e melhorar a qualidade de vida dos pacientes com câncer de tireoide, o que poderia ter valor clínico para o tratamento.
