VACINAÇÃO VERSUS DOENÇA: QUEM ESTÁ GANHANDO A BATALHA CONTRA AS HEPATITES A E B?

Resumo

INTRODUÇÃO: Grave problema de saúde no país, a infecção pelo vírus da hepatite pode evoluir para hepatite aguda ou crônica, dependendo do vírus. Atualmente, estão disponíveis no Programa Nacional de Imunizaçãoes (PNI) dois imunobiológicos que garantem imunidade específica e duradoura para Hepatite A (HA) e Hepatite B (HB). Pelo Ministério da Saúde, a vacina para HA deve ser feita aos 15 meses em dose única e a para HB ainda na maternidade, nas primeiras 24h de vida.OBJETIVOS: Determinar a incidência de novos casos de HA e HB bem como a cobertura vacinal para as duas patologias em 10 anos no Brasil.METODOLOGIA: Foram coletados dados do Departamento de Doenças de Condições Crônicas e Infecções Sexualmente Transmissíveis do Ministério da Saúde do Brasil, acerca de novos diagnósticos de HA e HB no país entre 2009 e 2018. Também foram avaliados os dados do Departamento de Informática do Sistema Único de Saúde (DATASUS) a partir de informações do PNI, no mesmo período quanto às imunizações aplicadas para HA e HB.RESULTADOS: Foram notificados 53473 novos casos de HA, no período estudado, com média de 5347.3 (±5572.7) casos/ano. As notificações são inferiores à média a partir de 2015, com menor número em 2016, com 1207. Quanto à HB, são 155062 novos casos notificados no mesmo período, média de 15506.2 (±1795.2) casos/ano. Não existe padrão de variação de notificações no período, entretanto a maior taxa de incidência se deu em 2011, com 8.7%, e a menor em 2017, com 6.9%. Quanto às imunizações, tem-se que foram aplicadas 142,020,901 doses entre HA e HB, distribuídas respectivamente em 9.53% e 90.47%.CONCLUSÃO: Os casos de hepatites seguem aumentando apesar da disponibilização de imunizantes. A partir dos números díspares entre as imunizações para HA e HB, pode-se inferir que a vacinação no período neonatal, ainda em ambiente hospitalar, garante maior cobertura e adesão, enquanto vacinas que devem ser aplicadas após certa idade, falham em alcançar todos os indivíduos, propiciando aumento de casos.
