MÁ ALIMENTAÇÃO INFANTIL COMO FATOR DE RISCO PARA DOENÇAS CRÔNICAS NÃO TRANSMISSÍVEIS (DCNT)

Resumo

Introdução: As novas práticas alimentares típicas do modelo consumista vigente incentivam a predominância de produtos industrializados na dieta infantil. Como consequência, o sobrepeso atinge 30% das crianças e a obesidade associada à falta de exercício físico pode acarretar outras Doenças Crônicas Não Transmissíveis (DCNT), como a diabetes tipo II, a hipertensão arterial e as doenças cardiovasculares. Esse aumento de DCNT é alarmante, pois essas doenças são responsáveis por 70% das mortes em adultos no país. Objetivos: Evidenciar a influência da má alimentação infantil como fator de desenvolvimento de DCNT. Material e métodos: Realizou-se uma busca nas bases de dados BVS, SciElo e Google Acadêmico, com os descritores: Nutrição da criança, Fatores de risco, Doenças Crônicas Não Transmissíveis. Foram selecionados artigos em português e inglês, publicados entre 2004 e 2018. Resultados: Alimentos industrializados, consumidos em larga escala pelo público infantil, possuem elevados índices de gordura, açúcar e sal, o que pode ser um fator de risco para causar obesidade infantil, diabetes mellitus tipo II e hipertensão arterial. Além disso, estudos mostram que 35% das criançasapresentam hábitos alimentares inadequados e 50% delas não praticam exercícios físicos. Ademais, as crianças obesas que permanecem acima do peso estão sujeitas às complicações neurometabólicas e endócrinas que podem facilitar o desenvolvimento das doenças cardiovasculares na idade adulta. Por fim, 70% dos indivíduos obesos apresentam risco de desenvolver doenças cardiovasculares, dado preocupante, uma vez que essas enfermidades são DCNT’s que mais causam mortes na população. Conclusão: A má alimentação infantil pode provocar consequências a curto prazo, como a obesidade, e a longo prazo, como a diabetes tipo II, a hipertensão arterial e as doenças cardiovasculares. Dessa forma, é de grande importância que sejam elaborados programas educacionais inovadores para orientar o público infantil e seus responsáveis sobre nutrição.
