Resistência à insulina, Síndrome do ovário policístico, Metabolismo
Resumo
Introdução: A Síndrome do Ovário Policístico (SOP) é um importante distúrbio metabólico incidente em mulheres na faixa etária reprodutiva, o qual propicia o desenvolvimento da resistência à insulina, fundamental para a homeostase da glicose, e consequentemente afetando as funções metabólicas dessas pacientes. Objetivos: Descrever a relação entre a Síndrome do Ovário Policístico com Resistência à Insulina, destacando sua epidemiologia e agravos sintomáticos causados por essa associação de alterações fisiológicas. Material e Métodos: Para a presente revisão integrativa da literatura foi realizado levantamento nas bases de dados do PubMed, Scielo e Google acadêmico, com estudos entre 2012 e 2021, dos quais 12 foram selecionados 12 artigos que abordassem a influência da resistência à insulina em pacientes com SOP. Resultados: Essa resistência é resultado de uma resposta celular inadequada à insulina, a qual leva a sérias alterações fisiológicas e de desenvolvimento de outros sintomas comuns à síndrome do ovário policístico. Conclusão: Apesar da síndrome do ovário policístico ter tratamento, não possui cura, somado a isso, o fato de seus mecanismos celulares insensibilizadores de insulina não serem claros, mostrando a necessidade de mais pesquisas com o intuito de entender o distúrbio. Sendo necessário assim, um acompanhamento sazonal às pacientes afetadas, com o objetivo de proporcionar uma melhor qualidade e expectativa de vida para as portadoras da síndrome.
