Envelhecimento, Síndromes Geriátricas, Saúde do Idoso
Resumo
Introdução: Síndromes geriátricas são condições de saúde que afetam a capacidade da pessoa idosa de gerir a própria vida, interferindo na sua funcionalidade para realizar tarefas cotidianas, nessa faixa etária é comum sinais e sintomas relacionados às doenças ou agravos se manifestarem de forma atípica. ressalta-se também a reserva funcional do idoso que se apresenta progressivamente menor, tornando assim a intervenção precoce essencial para a melhoria da qualidade assistencial. Objetivo: Descrever quais são as principais síndromes geriátricas. Material e métodos: Trata-se de uma revisão bibliográfica, onde foram selecionados 05 estudos relacionados ao tema, disponíveis nas plataformas digitais: Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), Literatura Latinoamericana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde (LILACS), Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE). Desntro de um corte temporal de 10 anos (2010- 2020). Resultados: O envelhecimento humano é influenciado por diversas situações em diversas dimensões humanas, o modo como ocorrem essas mudanças determinam o envelhecimento saudável; Alterações físicas, mentais e psicossociais que podem levar a pessoa idosa a apresentar um envelhecimento mal-sucedido, levando-os a apresentar síndromes geriátricas; Que incluem a instabilidade postural, incontinência esfincteriana, insuficiência familiar, imobilidade, incapacidade cognitiva, iatrogenia, incapacidade comunicativa. Cerca de 50% a 60% dos casos estão relacionados ao Alzheimer; Doenças mentais, como esquizofrenia; Delirium (estado de confusão mental agudo); Depressão. Conclusão: A saúde do idoso está estritamente relacionada com a sua funcionalidade global, definida como a capacidade de gerir a própria vida ou cuidar de si mesmo. É de suma importância uma atenção especializada voltada para idosos e a busca ativa daqueles que vivem sem apoio familiar, pois o funcionamento harmonioso de quatro domínios funcionais: cognição, humor, mobilidade e comunicação; irão garantir e/ou retardar o mal envelhecimento, a perda dessas funções resulta nas grandes síndromes geriátricas abordadas
