Resumo
Introdução: A consulta de puericultura é entendida como sendo um conjunto de regras e noções sobre a arte de cuidar fisiológica e higienicamente das crianças, a qual tem como objeto a criança sadia e sua meta é um adulto saudável fisicamente, psicologicamente equilibrado e socialmente útil. A puericultura é uma prática assistencial de atividade privativa do enfermeiro realizada por meio do acompanhamento periódico e sistemático de um conjunto de medidas que visem à saúde da criança, esses profissionais investem tempo nas ações de promoção e prevenção à saúde. Objetivo: Destacar a importância da consulta de enfermagem na puericultura, a fim de promover o crescimento e desenvolvimento saudáveis das crianças de zero a cinco anos. Material e métodos: Tratou-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura que avaliou estudos publicados entre os anos de 2015 e 2020 em periódicos indexados na base de dados SCIELO.Foram excluídos 6 das 11 publicações encontradas por não apresentarem conteúdo significativo e / ou duplicidade de publicações. Resultados: Percebe – se entre os autores pesquisados, um consenso onde à prioridade de assistência ao grupo materno – infantil, devido a maior exposição dessa população ao risco de adoecimento e morte. Conclusão: A infância é um período que requer cuidados diretos e assistência integralizada, em especial, dos enfermeiros por ser um período onde se há grandes alterações e potencialidades humanas. O papel do enfermeiro é fundamental dentro do contexto da pesquisa em questão, favorecendo um aumento da qualidade de atendimento ao binômio mãe – criança.
