Introdução: Estudos preliminares realizados durante o período de pandemia sugerem alterações no consumo alimentar entre os adolescentes (12 a 18 anos) devido ao isolamento social, redução da atividade física e atividades escolares remotas. Tais alterações podem repercutir no estado nutricional, aumentando a prevalência de sobrepeso e obesidade e acarretando riscos à saúde. Objetivo: Analisar a prevalência de sobrepeso e obesidade durante o período de pandemia da COVID-19 em adolescentes de Santarém-PA. Material e métodos: trata-se de um estudo do tipo transversal, descritivo, realizado em usuários do SUS a partir de dados do Sistema Nacional de Vigilância Alimentar e Nutricional (SISVAN). Os dados selecionados foram: estado nutricional pelo índice de massa corporal para idade (IMC/idade) de adolescentes no município de Santarém-Pará, entre os períodos de janeiro de 2019 até junho de 2021. Resultados: Foram atendidos na Atenção Básica do SUS em Santarém, em 2019, 15.896 adolescentes enquanto que em 2020 e de janeiro à junho de 2021 o total de casos acompanhados foram de 15.391 e 7.461, respectivamente. Entre os anos de 2019, 2020 e 2021, observou-se que o estado nutricional eutrófico prevaleceu (86%, 74,5% e 74,21%, respectivamente), seguida de sobrepeso (13,27%; 15,3% e 14,89%, respectivamente) e obesidade (4,06%, 4,93% e 5,31%, respectivamente) nos adolescentes acompanhados pela Atenção Básica no SUS em Santarém. Tais resultados podem ser associados ao isolamento social imposto pela pandemia do coronavírus, paralisação das atividades escolares e academias, favorecendo o aumento do consumo energético, de alimentos industrializados, aumento do tempo do uso de aparelhos eletrônicos, consumo de redes sociais, aumento do sedentarismo e diminuição do gasto energético, podendo repercutir no ganho de peso nesta faixa etária e no desenvolvimento de doenças crônicas não transmissíveis (DCNTs). Conclusão: Os adolescentes acompanhados na Atenção Básica apresentaram uma redução prevalência da eutrofia, seguida de aumento das prevalências de sobrepeso e obesidade nos anos de 2019, 2020 e 2021, em Santarém. Nesse contexto, faz-se necessário maior atenção ao consumo alimentar e acompanhamento do estado nutricional desse público devido as alterações observadas durante o período de pandemia do COVID-19.
