Resumo

Introdução: A diminuição da taxa de mortalidade está diretamente associada a um aumento da expectativa de vida, resultando no envelhecimento da população. Em uma população senil o aparecimento de doenças crônico-degenerativas é comum, sendo a osteoporose a que mais se destaca. Esta, é um distúrbio osteometabólico, onde ocorre perda de massa óssea e desarranjo da microarquitetura histológica do tecido ósseo. Assim, dá-se a relevância da prevenção com atividade física. Objetivos: elucidar as alterações histológicas da osteoporose e a prevenção com atividade física. Material e Métodos: Trata-se de uma revisão literária fundamentada nas bases de dados SciELO (Scientific Eletronic Library Online), PubMED e Web science baseados em artigos sobre alterações histológicas da osteoporose e a prevenção com atividade física realizados entre os períodos de 2006 a 2016, sendo no final selecionados 18 artigos. Resultados: Após analisar os resultados das pesquisas que compõem este estudo, foram observadas alterações histológica como o aumento da porosidade óssea, rarefação, alterações na microarquitetura dos ossos esponjosos e corticais, diminuição das fibras colágenas, evidências de desmineralização da matriz óssea, aumento do número de osteoclastos, diminuição de osteócitos e de osteoblastos. A constituição normal do osso, que seria uma parte inorgânica, composta por íons de fosfato e cálcio e outra orgânica, formada principalmente por fibras colágenas, apresentou-se alterada. Sabe-se que a fisiopatologia das alterações histológicas do tecido ósseo se baseia no desequilíbrio do metabolismo ósseo, gerando um aumento da reabsorção e diminuição da formação óssea. serão Os principais fatores desencadeadores dos mecanismos fisiopatológicos são as alterações hormonais, idade avançada, deficiência de vitamina D, carência de cálcio e sedentarismo. A osteoporose gera fraturas, deformações, diminuição da estatura, dor, invalidez e óbito. A atividade física regular previne a osteoporose e suas consequências por atuar no osso por efeito direto, via força mecânica, ou indireto, por fatores hormonais. Conclusão: Após realização desta revisão de literatura, nossos achados sugerem que a atividade física está associada à diversos benefícios sobre o tecido ósseo, tanto em pessoas saudáveis como em pessoas predispostas a osteoporose, com isso, terapêuticas mais adequadas podem ser desenvolvidas.
