Resumo

Introdução: O câncer é considerado um dos principais desafios enfrentados pelos sistemas de saúde mundial, principalmente em países subdesenvolvidos como o Brasil. A implantação de programas de detecção precoce do câncer consegue diminuir os índices de mortalidade associados a essa patologia. Objetivo: Realizar um rastreamento de notificações dos casos no Brasil, especificamente em Rondônia, e sistematizar os dados, com a ressignificação do tema dentro do tripé educacional no ensino da Biologia, de forma a sensibilizar a comunidade estudantil aos métodos de autoexame e à busca de diagnósticos precoces. Método: Trata-se de um estudo de corte retrospectivo e documental a partir de notificações compulsórias disponibilizadas no site Instituto Nacional do Câncer, no período de 2016 a 2020, para índices de casos, e no período de 2010 a 2019, para índices de mortalidade. Resultados: Os resultados demonstraram que o câncer de mama e o câncer de próstata são os mais incidentes no Brasil (com exceção do câncer de pele), porém em homens o câncer das vias respiratórias (brônquios e pulmão) possui um índice de letalidade maior, enquanto que em mulheres prevalece o câncer de mama. O estudo sistemático permitiu verificar a falta de Comportamento Preventivo de Saúde a fim de evitar o impacto da doença ou detectá-la em fase inicial. Conclusão: É necessária a implementação de programas preventivos multidisciplinares. O assunto, de acordo com os Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais, pode ser introduzido como tema transversal e de forma interdisciplinar no ensino básico, permitindo aos adolescentes o aprendizado de conteúdos que estimulem o autocuidado.
