Introdução: A terminalidade parece ser o eixo central do conceito em torno da qual se situam as consequências. É quando se esgotam as possibilidades de resgate das condições de saúde do paciente e morte próxima parece inevitável. Neste contexto, muitos pacientes terminais são cuidados em ambiente domiciliar, o que traz impacto sobre toda família, sobretudo ao membro que se dedicará a atenção direta do paciente mediante à prestação de cuidados. Objetivo: Discutir os impactos familiares frente a um paciente oncológico terminal em cuidados domiciliares. Materiais e métodos: Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa descritiva do tipo revisão integrativa da literatura, realizado via online indexados no acervo científico das bases de dados: PubMed e Scielo. Os critérios de inclusão foram: artigos na íntegra disponíveis realizadas e divulgadas nos últimos cinco anos. O período de levantamento foi de 2017 a 2021. Aplicando-se os critérios de inclusão e exclusão assim, foram localizados inicialmente 30 artigos, os quais foram submetidos a seleção de duplicatas seguida pela seleção a partir da leitura do título, resumo e trabalho completo resultando em 10 artigos. Resultados: Os resultados encontrados mostram que os prestadores de cuidado familiar exercem um papel essencial na assistência a pessoas em fase terminal no domicílio e que o cuidador principal é aquele que usa seus horários para dedicar-se em atender as necessidades do seu familiar, os cuidadores acabam-se privando de suas atividades sociais e consequentemente dos seus trabalhos. Conclusão: Conclui-se que os reflexos da finitude humana na vida do cuidador familiar”, evidenciaram a complexidade da internação domiciliar do paciente sem possibilidades de cura. Dessa forma, os planos Assistenciais para as pessoas em terminalidade e seus familiares podem ser repensados diante do cotidiano aqui explicitado.
