Introdução: As intoxicações por medicamentos ocupam o primeiro lugar nas intoxicações do Brasil. O Sistema Nacional de Informações Tóxico-Farmacológicas (Sinitox) é responsável por coordenar a coleta, a compilação, a análise e a divulgação anual dos dados de intoxicações em âmbito nacional. Os registros são realizados pelos Centros de Informação e Assistência Toxicológica (Ciats) e posteriormente repassados para o Sinitox. Objetivo: Avaliar o perfil das intoxicações por medicamentos que ocorreram na região CentroOeste nos anos de 2007 a 2017. Materiais e Métodos: Realizou-se uma análise descritiva dos dados secundários disponíveis no Sinitox sobre intoxicações por medicamentos que ocorreram nos anos de 2007 a 2017 na região Centro- Oeste. As variáveis analisadas foram: sexo, idade, evolução (cura, sequela ou morte), circunstância (individual, coletiva, suicídio). Resultados: Foram analisados 24.833 casos, no qual as crianças com idade entre 1 e 4 anos foram as mais afetadas. As mulheres detêm a maioria dos casos de intoxicação. Conforme descrito em outros artigos sobre a problemática, a principal circunstância de uso foi o acidente individual (11.129), seguido por tentativa de suicídio (9.344). No que tange a evolução das intoxicações temse que a cura (20.817) foi mais prevalente, entretanto foram registrados 128 casos de morte e 54 casos de sequelas. Aproximadamente 54% das mortes decorreram de tentativa de suicídio. Conclusão: Tendo em vista, a alta quantidade de intoxicações e o seu perfil, faz-se necessário a adoção de medidas de prevenção por meio da educação em saúde, o controle dos medicamentos com dose terapêutica muita próxima da dose tóxica, além disso, deve-se manter os medicamentos fora do alcance de crianças e se atentar a dose permitida para essa faixa etária.
